Dear friends, dear YMAA members, it is an honor for me to announce that YMAA 14th International Summer Camp will take place this summer – from August 15th to August 23rd 2015 – in French "Gironde" department. This will make it YMAA 2nd International Summer Camp in France and 10th in Europe.

 

A quick history of YMAA France

Dr Yang first came to France in October 1990 in Henry Plee’s famous Club – France’s Shobudo Club” also called “The Mountain”.

Following this first seminars, the YMAA France’s first school was opened in 1992 by Serge Augier and Guy Cacciaguerra. Then, after Ramel Rones – master Yang first disciple – ‘s six month stay in march 1994, Pascal Plee became YMAA France director.

In April 2009, Victor Marques, master Yang’s student since his first French seminar, became YMAA France’s president.

From this very small group of martial arts enthusiasts, YMAA France has never stopped bringing knowledge about traditional Chinese martial arts, whether internal, external or energetics, for martial reasons, health or body-mind harmony. After 25 years, six YMAA French school still honor master Yang ‘s aim of preserving traditional Chinese martial arts and of bridging the gap between ancient Asian knowledge and today’s world.

 

The last summer camp

Master Yang Jwing Ming as written more than 30 books, filmed many DVDs, created a worldwide school system, taught for thousands of hours, be it classes or seminars all around the world, created a retreat center in California for teaching in a traditional way and graduated hundreds of students in all 3 disciplines – Kung fu, Taiji Quan and Qi Gong. Now nearing the age of 70, Master Yang has announced this would be his last summer camp as Coach instructor in Europe.

 

A land of strength, culture and also originality

France is a country with a long history of Asian martial arts practice. It is also a country with a great cultural background.

To celebrate the 25th birthday of master Yang’s coming in France, the 10th European international training camp will take place near one of the most popular places in France due to its architectural heritage, food and wine ! Bordeaux, it is in this city  the lastest YMAA school in France in September 2013. This is a city where history, atmosphere and culture mingle peacefully. Bordeaux, capital of the Aquitaine region is close to the Atlantic Ocean, close to one of the largest forests in Europe and offers a unique gastronomy in France. It is a place of wonder and magic.

 

A unique time for sharing and learning

 

Often organized at the end of the training season, summer camps are an occasion to meet each other, to share our knowledge, to deepen our training and to improve faster. Whatever your goal, you will always find that your martial quality has increase after such a training. You also find yourself richer in sharing and knowing, having met with other students and instructors. In a YMAA International Camp, you will meet members from other countries and people from outside YMAA. All those people will have different level than you, different ways of doing things. This is the wealth of YMAA: its people, coming from 17 countries. All there to share.

 

For all those reasons, this 10th International European Summer Camp in 2015 is an opportunity no one should miss.
